July 31, 2022 Details
Meet up: San Diego Club has invited our club and the Orange County club to join them in their ride event. We can meet up at the Lake Elsinore Supercharger located at 17600 Collier Ave. at 8:00am and drive west to their meet up place in San Juan Capistrano. Please let us know if you are planning on attending so we can have a good head count using this link even if you already did for the cancelled event:

Meet up:
We will meet in the parking lot by Ball Park Pizza (31654 Rancho Viejo Rd, San Juan Capistrano, CA) starting at 10am. Here we can have a chance to mingle and meet other drivers/passengers. We will also try to self-identify the speed demons and slowpokes so we can send out the more aggressive drivers first.
1st Drive leg:
We will start our drive letting the faster cars go first heading east on the Ortega Highway to our first stop - the Ortega Oaks Candy Store. Along the way we will pass the Caspers Wilderness Park. Some adventurous souls might opt to spend the night at a campground and join us in the middle of the drive.
Candy Store & Bakery:
Our first stop will be at the Ortega Oaks Candy Store. It recently came under new ownership by a couple that had been doing catering for the film industry. The smells from her baking will tickle your taste buds and get you salivating. Pick up something sweet to eat later.
2nd Drive leg:
From there we will drive to our lunch stop. But along the way on the left we will pass an overlook of the Ortega Falls. Feel free to use the turnout and have a look. The falls are now dry so you won't be tempted to take a swim.
Lunch at Hafey Farms:
We will have a group lunch at Hafey Farms. They have pizza and sandwiches, some straight from their smoker. We will take orders during the meet-n-greet at San Juan Capistrano so the food will be ready when we get there. Hafey's has a large parking lot and we will be eating at tables under trees.
3rd Drive leg:
Once done with lunch, we will head to Lake Elsinore. There are great views of the lake and valley as you wind your way down.
Wrap up:
Optionally we can meet up at the Park-n-Ride (Lake Elsinore Market) for a wrap up to say goodbye to new friends. Once there, take Interstate 15 home, or maybe run the Ortega Highway in reverse and visit Mission San Juan Capistrano, across the street from the morning meeting place.
